The weather data that appears on this website is collected via an Oregon Scientific WMR928 wireless weather station. The temperature/humidity sensor is housed in a home made 'Stevenson' Screen, therefore readings are reasonably representative of actual temperature except during summer under calm sunny days, when I know I do overread when any wind is about is from specific directions. I am constructing a new Stevenson using a better specification, which will allow better The siting of the anemometer is certainly not ideal. It is only approx 12 to 13ft above the ground so will not be truely representative. Along with other obstructions, I am probably under reading by at least 16% on wind speed data. I still intend to re-site to the accepted standard of at least 30ft above the ground and certainly above the roofline. I hav eto admit, there is no realistic timescale on this. The rain gauge was adapted to allow a recording resolution to 0.1mm rather than the 1mm resolution of the original unit by adding a wider capture funnel.

The observations from October 2005 to August 2007 were from Stanground, SE Peterborough. Observations from September 2007 to January 2009 were from Bretton, West Peterborough and from December 2009 to present, from Park Farm, SE Peterborough. Although data has been recorded from different locations, they are in close enough proximity to each other that I have decided to continue the observed data as if from the same site. Although this is not ideal, the climate is very similar and any variation would be very negligible. Historical reports will be clear as to location(s) where the data was recorded.

The software used to collate all the data is Weather Display (WD). The software allows me to present the data using pre-determined formats or custom designs as I have done for this website. The Weather Display Live (WDL) page is powered by software developed by Julian Best and uses data fed by WD. The Weather Display software was developed by Brian Hamilton and Brian continues to support the software via a dedicated forum.
